I mean, she was different. She was dramatic and she was exotic. And she talked a lot, and when she talked, she said remarkably interesting things about music, books, film and politics.
My Undead Patron
A young girl came up to me and asked me for a list of all the vampire romance books in the library. I was in a hurry as there were several patrons behind her, so when I went to search our records for the word “vampire”, I was surprised when the system only came up with one hit.
…until I realized that I was searching the patron records. This man’s name is not vampire or anything like it, he doesn’t borrow a lot of vampire books, there was NO REASON for his name to come up, but for some reason when I typed in vampire, the system brought up his name.
So with that in mind, I think I need to go buy some holy water, a stake and some leather pants. Frankly, I knew what I was getting into when I became a librarian.

I have entered a bookstore and am finding it very difficult to leave without books.
Well, I got three books. Hey, it could’ve been thirty so really I saved money.

Perfect. I went to a bookstore earlier today and left with 3 books, which is far less than the 20 I want to get.

it messed me up when i realized the reason baleen whales have those weird vertical stripes under their mouths is because it’s actually all folded and when they open their mouths it expands into an enormous pouch that goes down like half their body
My updated bookshelf. On the top, are my TBR books. I like to keep them separate from the books I’ve read, that way I can see exactly how many books I still have to read and can visualize my progress better. Do any of you guys do this too?
